Text Messaging

I know we have all done this, but seriously what has this world come to.  This afternoon I got out of work and called my someone to see what they were doing for lunch/afternoon.  There was no answer so since it wasn’t too important I didn’t leave a message.  Not more than 30 seconds later I recieved a text message asking me what is up. Are you serious, you couldn’t pick up the phone or just call me back.  It is a saturday you have free minutes. I was driving in snow and so I wasn’t going to text message while trying to steer my little car through 4 inches of snow.  Answer the phone.  I can understand texting if you are in a place where you aren’t able to talk, i.e.  if someone calls me and I am at work, I can’t really pick up my cell phone and talk but I can text message pretty discreetly and easy or I can call back on my work phone.

This just seems like it is getting out of hand.  I can recall at least 3 times in teh apst week that this has happened to me.  Are we getting that bad.  My goal is more phone use/less text messaging, let’s here each others voices again.
